4th of July weekend, 2017
During the day, dress in your red, white, and blue and participate in the patriotic events held on Main Street. The road is blocked off for the annual water fight, watermelon and pie eating contests, and more. Bring your blankets and glow sticks and head to the beach to view the spectacular fireworks display at sunset. The energy is buzzing all weekend as the summer truly begins on the island!

Opera House Cup:

August 20, 2017
“The Opera House Cup Regatta is the grand finale of Nantucket Race Week, and the events culminate with the OHC Awards Party, held under the tents on Jetties Beach on Sunday evening. Good food, Spanky's famous raw bar, drinks, photos of the OHC race, a silent auction, raffle drawing, presentation of the awards and music keep the party jumping late into the evening. The OHC Awards Party is considered "the party of the season" on Nantucket, and there are easily over 1000 attendees.”

“Hundreds of decorated seven-foot Christmas trees line downtown streets and carolers in costume sing familiar holiday tunes at various downtown locations. A variety of live entertainment is offered in the middle of Main Street, which is closed to traffic for the day. There are craft shows, performances, special dinners at island restaurants (make your reservations now!), tours, and exhibitions. Many merchants still offer holiday refreshments to shoppers.”
