Nantucket Island and Real Estate Information

The Inquirer and Mirror and Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Halloween Parade and Costume Contest on Main Street, Wednesday October 31st. The kids are not the only ones that get to dress up, adults participate too. Many families dress up in themed costumes, trust us, you will not be the only one. The celebration starts in the afternoon as costumed participants should start arriving around 4:30 to be ready for the 5pm start of the parade at the base of Main Street.

Don't let those great costumes go unrewarded, before the parade a costume contest is held at the steps of the Methodist Church, the top prize going to the best-dressed family. After the parade each child gets a goodie bag and a ribbon. The fun does not have to stop here as most downtown businesses are open for trick-or-treaters. Whether you participate or just want to observe, this Halloween celebration is a great time for all. Off island on Halloween? Not to worry our downtown webcams point directly at the action.

While inventory at this time is lower than it has been in March for the previous 2 years, sales are continuing to outpace, up 35% from last year YTD. With inventory lower and demand increasing average and median home prices have increased. For sellers this translates into a great time to sell your home, especially early spring before the seasonal influx of properties come on the market.
