2021 Nantucket Film Festival

During the past year, we have understandably seen many Nantucket festivals and events reduce their programs or cancel altogether. Fortunately, one of Nantucket's favorite events, the Nantucket Film Festival is expanding its program while complying with local public safety guidelines. For the first time in its since its inception in 1997, the NFF will expand from six to eleven days and presented in a hybrid format. The different formats will include online screenings, drive-in screenings, and intimate garden screenings and conversations.

NFF is scheduled for June 17 - 28, 2021, specific programs and times will be announced soon. We encourage you to check with the NFF directly for the most up-to-date information.


Film Programming

The film programming at the NFF consists of approximately 30 feature films and 30 short films, both including fiction and non-fiction. Notable films from 2019 include Yesterday, Toy Story 4, The Farewell, Maiden, Brittany Runs a Marathon, David Crosby: Remember My Name, and The Peanut Butter Falcon.


NFF Signature Programs

Screenwriters Tribute: Honors prominent screenwriters and their achievements. Past recipients include Leslie Dixon, Noah Baumbach, Tom McCarthy, Oliver Stone, Robert Towne, Aaron Sorkin, David O. Russell, Nancy Meyers, Barry Levinson, Judd Apatow, Alexander Payne, and Charlie Kaufman and the women of Saturday Night Live.

Other Signature programs include All-Star Comedy Roundtable, Staged Readings of unproduced screenplays, Afternoon Tea Talks with notable guests, and Morning Coffee panel series with attending filmmakers.


NFF Now at Home

For the entire 11 days of the festival, an ample program of screening and conversations will be available online, nationwide.


NFF at the Drive-In

There will be 8 nights of presentations held at the Dreamland-Drive In.
The full line-up on screenings will be announced in early May.


NFF Garden Conversation Series

New to this year's festival, the Garde Conversation Series will include hosted screenings and conversations in the gardens of private homes across the island. These settings will be intimate and comply with local public safety guidelines.
The full program of conversations and homes will be announced in May.
