Mark Your Calendar!The Steamship Authority has announced the opening date for Summer 2026 Nantucket auto reservations. Beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. (ET), reservations for travel with an automobile to Nantucket from May 14, 2026 through October 22, 2026 may be made online, and mail-in Nantucket reservations will begin processing in the order received.

Key Details:

Online Reservations Only (during the internet opening):
Vehicle reservations will not be taken over the phone during the online opening. For help accessing your account (password/PIN, etc.), call the Steamship Authority Reservation Line at 508-477-8600.

Virtual Waiting Room:
To help manage heavy website traffic, the Steamship Authority will use a virtual waiting room during the opening period.

Before opening day, go to www.steamshipauthority.com and be sure you can access your account.

Mail-In Reservations:
Online reservations on opening day can be challenging. A simpler alternative is mailing in your request—mail can be sent anytime, and processing begins January 27, 2026 in the order received (up to five one-way or round-trip reservations per mailing).
