Labor Day on Nantucket always feels a little bittersweet. It marks the close of another beautiful summer, yet the island still offers a few more weeks of warm beach days with lighter traffic, quieter restaurants, and a little more room to breathe.
The Nantucket real estate market had a remarkable summer. July and August sales dollar volume was up 60% compared to last year, driven by more sales and several noteworthy transactions, including a $26.5M Pocomo property with buyer representation by Lucie Cristler of Maury People Sotheby’s International Realty. Looking ahead, fall is traditionally the busiest season for real estate sales. If recent trends continue, total sales should surpass the $1 billion mark in September, well ahead of last year, when that milestone was reached in mid-October.
With our Main Street office preparing for the busy fall, we’re excited for an incredible finish to an already outstanding year. Whether you’re looking to rent, sell, or buy on Nantucket, let us show you why we’ve been the island’s leading real estate agency year after year.
