Sconset

The historic and idyllic village of Siasconset or as it's known to locals Sconset. A self contained community that has managed to maintain many of it's period charms. Founded over 300 years ago as a whaling outpost, Sconset is best known for it's timeless architecture and unique natural beauty.

Located on the Southeastern tip of the island Sconset offers vacationers and locals the perfect mix of accessibility, great food, historic sites and pristine beaches and bluffs. Sconset is just 8 miles from town and easily reached by car, NRTA Wave or the bicycle path.

The quaint village of Sconset consists of a roundabout on which you'll see the 'Sconset Cafe, Claudette's Sandwiches, the Siasconset Market and the tennis courts of the Siasconset Casino (tennis club). Once there visit Sconset’s beach, with its wide expanse of pristine sand.  Be sure to stroll down Elbow Lane where you’ll encounter a rustic footbridge.  Look to your right and you’ll see a sundial on the side of the gray-shingled house.

If you truly want to appreciate Sconset’s proximity to the ocean take a walk on the cliff walk that runs along the bluff. Another great walk takes you to see the stately Sankaty Lighthouse.
