One of the many amazing aspects Nantucket is the diversity of activities that are available throughout the summer. Whatever your kids are into chances are you'll find it on Nantucket. Try one or try them all we're sure your kids (and you) will enjoy them!

Critter Cruise

Captain Josh has come up with one of the coolest things to hit the Nantucket waterfront in a long time - the Nantucket Critter Cruise. Catch this, it’s a one hour trip for kids where they go out on the Monomoy, get to watch Captain Josh haul some fish traps and lobster gear, and then everybody gets a fishing pole to do some fishing. How cool is that? You never know what kind of critters will come up in the traps so it’s exciting stuff for the whole crew. Once the haul is up on deck, the critters you catch go into a "touch tank" so everyone can see the catch up close and even pick the critters up if you want to. To top it all off, all the kids get Critter Cruise tee-shirts to wear home to show everyone they made the cut and are members of the Monomoy Critter Cruise Crew.

Whaling Museum's Discovery Room

The Whaling Museum is not just for adults, the museum's Discovery Room is a comfortable family space that features craft activities, hands-on opportunities, and a library. Come in and enjoy an afternoon of fun and exploration!

With the understanding that people learn best through experience, MMA aims to provide excellent, hands-on learning opportunities that engage children, young adults, families, and adults in science.  The diverse ecosystems of Nantucket serve as the classroom and the means to awaken our students’ interest in marine science, natural science, astronomy, field research, and environmental stewardship.

SkatePark

Your teens will love this option. The SkatePark on Backus Lane is a relatively new, designed with a “street park” feel. There are stairs, ledges, banks, quarter pipes and bowls. Young children will love riding their scooters here.
